In November We Remember
The Grade 3-6 All Soul’s Liturgy was held Thursday of last week. The students entered the prayer space in quiet reflection. Many placed a piece of nature, a cut out heart with the name of someone close who has died, or a personal item that belong to loved one who, onto the prayer table as they entered. The image of an empty chair was used to help us focus on the person we love and miss, but to also be thankful for their gift to us while on this earth. Below is an excerpt from the liturgy.
The Empty Chair
There are beginnings and endings, with lifetimes in between. When someone that we love leaves or dies, they leave a gap in our lives. We miss them. Even though they may not be able to be with us and sit with us, they will always be with us in our hearts and in our memories.
We thank you God for the lifetimes in between.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.
“The Lord is near the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:17-20
“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

New School Signage

We have new school signage at the front entrance which advises the following:
NO private cars can access the school Grounds between 2.40pm and 3.20pm.
Please observe the restriction to keep our students safe. Thank you.
JUST LIKE JESUS
Congratulations to these students who received the "Just Like Jesus" award at assembly. It means that they have been 'caught' treating others in an extra respectful manner.
Athletics Carnival 2021
Our Kindergarten students had loads of fun last week, on Tuesday at their first carnival followed by Prep to Grade 6 on Wednesday. Thank you to everyone for their flexability to help set up the event and cheer on the children in a very compacted schedule. We were so fortunate to have all events completed just as the rain began.
Parents and spectators were given a great display of the children trying hard to do their best. They gave their best running performances. They showed the very best sportsmanship cheering each other on, helping others and best of all some great house group songs and team cheering.
Congratulations to our grade 6 house leaders for their help with setting up, assisting their teachers, leading the cheering and looking after the younger children.
A big well done to the staff who worked hard to give the children a fun and enjoyable day.
Thank you as always to Mike McKenna for giving us his time and, for another year doing a top job as race starter. Mike has years of experience in the running game and we are very lucky to have him help us.
Thank you to the parents and family who came and watched. Your children really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy lives to spend the day watching the fun.
Well done to our Grade 6 Champions for 2021, Zahli Wescombe and Caleb Luck and to team LAWSON for accumulating the highest team points for the carnival.
Results: Lawson 395 points - Hollows 392 points - Flynn 392 points - Lions - 295 points
